Sarah Wilschek, the Executive Director of Ohev Beth Sholom, brings a wealth of passion, experience, and honed skills to further the congregation's mission and vision while enhancing the lives of community members across the greater Youngstown area.
Before joining Ohev Beth Sholom, Sarah had already established herself as a leader within Youngstown's local community. Her focus on creating meaningful experiences, forging partnerships, and nurturing relationships within the Mahoning Valley exemplifies her dedication to community growth. As a native of the Mahoning Valley, Sarah possesses an innate passion and commitment for the community's success, striving to exceed all expectations.
Sarah's educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from THE Ohio State University, complemented by a master's degree in Non-Profit Management from Gratz College. She also holds a Fellowship and certification in Jewish Communal Service. In recognition of her expertise and contributions, Sarah was awarded Senior Status within the National Association for Temple Administration in 2023 and is on track to complete her Fellowship in Temple Administration. Sarah has also been recognized as an Athena nominee, Woman of Impact, 18 Under 36 Member of the Tribe, 25 Under 35, and more.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Sarah treasures spending quality time with her husband, David, and their two children, Jacob and Shayna, alongside their beloved dogs, Mando and Maggie. They delight in supporting their children's endeavors in gymnastics, soccer, and baseball, as well as engaging in activities like crafting, reading, and enjoying the company of friends at home or in local parks.
Sarah's commitment to community service extends to her involvement as a board member of the National Associate for Temple Administration (NATA), Compass Family and Community Services, the Commission for Jewish Education, the Ohio Nonviolence Week committee, We are a Generation, Hillel at Kent State University, the Center for Holocaust and Judaic Studies at Youngstown State University, and the American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron Ball. Her multifaceted engagement underscores her dedication to fostering positive change and enriching the lives of others.
